Foster Carers sought in Bracknell
Rainbow Fostering would be interested in making contact with anyone considering fostering in the Bracknell area who has a spare room available for a child/young person. We would welcome applications from people who have never fostered before, as well as hearing from people who might already be fostering and considering transferring. There is a national shortage of foster carers – 9,000 new families are needed to meet rising levels of demand.
We have plenty of training courses to offer as we always aim to build the skills and knowledge of our foster carers. This plays a big part in ensuring they can make a success of their placements.
Points to consider when Fostering Children
The children we place come from a wide variety of cultural backgrounds. This country has a population of varied ethnicities so we would particularly welcome applications from families, whatever their ethnic background: this makes it much easier to achieve a cultural match for the children we have who need a home. Where education is concerned, it is usually desirable to keep a child in their current school when going into placement enabling them to keep in contact with the people they know. This provides them with stability and a sense of connection which can help them settle into their new foster home.
Taking a foster child on a day out is a great way to build a relationship. It demonstrates your interest in them and can really help with their education too. Rainbow Fostering make allowances available for this so a foster child/young person can ‘have fun’ – in your area there are some great options to consider including The Lookout Centre, Go Ape Bracknell and Coral Reef Bracknell’s Water World.
